Nutella Peanut Butter Brownies

Not everything here at Hot Dog is all about healthier versions of your favorites, this recipe is the perfect exception. Nutella browines filled with a peanut butter swirl throughout is pure heaven here. Nutella is all the rage as of late and I even added a teaspoon of instant espresso powder to give them a little kick to start off my weekend. I could keep rattling on and on about these amazing morsels...or I could just get straight to the point.

Nutella Peanut Butter Brownies

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Nutella
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • pinch of salt
Peanut Butter filling
  • 2 tbsp. butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup confectioner's sugar
  • 1/4 cup, plus 2 tbsp smooth peanut butter
  • pinch of salt
  • 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Grease an 8x8 pan with butter or plain cooking spray.

Cream together butter and suagr. Incorporate eggs and vanilla until combined. Mix in Nutella until smooth and fluffy. Add flour and salt and continue to mix until combined and smooth. (This is where you may also add 1 tsp. of espresso powder if you prefer)

Scoop batter into prepared pan and spread evenly.

Now prepare the peanut butter filling by combining all of the ingredients together until smooth. Then drop by tablespoon-fuls into the brownie mix and use a toothpick to swirl and mix the peanut butter into the brownies.

Bake for 40 minutes, check with a toothpick and make sure that it come out clean. Let cool at room temperature, cut into 9 large squares, or 16 smaller pieces and gobble them all up....or you could share. You decide.
