There are so many amazing things to be said about Matt's Big Breakfast that I'm not even sure where to start. My first culinary experience here was many years ago where I simply ate 2 eggs, hash browns, and bacon. But that meal was anything but simple. The cage-free eggs from humanely raised chickens and local citrus, pork, and beef products really make all the difference at this local hot spot. Add a side of Wildflower Bread Company's sourdough toast, and pile it high with their homemade strawberry jam. Or check out the specials board because you might just find some Bourbon Cherry Sausage to devour like I recently did. You may have seen them on Diner's, Drive-ins, and Dives on the Food Network, or caught them on just about every top breakfast list made here in Arizona. And they deserve every single drop of praise. Be prepared to wait a bit for a table, but once you're inside, Matt's staff is friendly, and the kitchen is quick. The menu is not extensive, yet I still struggle every time to make a decision, because every thing is just so damn good. If you don't get the chance to eat at their restaurant on 1st Street and Garfield in Downtown Phoenix, maybe you will have the pleasure of stopping by their hub at The Sky Harbor International Airport in Terminal 4. Either way, just make sure that you get here!
