If you have ever been to South America, then I am sure that you have been offered a caipirinha or two at the local beach bars. But if you haven't had the luxury of traveling to any of these exotic lands, look no further than your local Fogo de Chao restaurant where you can find this Brazilian cocktail made fresh with limes, sugar, and a specialized sugar cane rum called Cachaca. Cachaca can be found at Total Wine and BevMo, and is great for a simple yet refreshing cocktail.

(makes 1 cocktail)

  • 1 lime, quartered
  • 2 tsp. granulated sugar
  • 2 oz. Cachaca rum
Muddle the lime and the sugar together in a glass. Add ice and pour the rum over the ice. Stir well. Enjoy.
