Firehouse 4 Bean Chili

The weather here in Phoenix was pretty peculiar this weekend and dropped down to the 50's with wind and rain. If you have been living under a rock for any length of time, then you should know that this is pretty rare for April in Arizona, but hey, April showers brings May flowers, right? After a great night out, with even better friends all I wanted was to enjoy a lazy Sunday. Whoever invented the crock pot was definitley watching out for me on days like these. Just dump everything in there, turn it on low and let it cook all day. After a nap and errands, there it was just sitting there all delicious and ready for me to scarf down! What could be better?

4 Bean Chili

Ingredients:

  • 1 package ground turkey
  • 3/4 cup chopped onion
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 4 oz. tomato paste
  • 1 can Canellini beans
  • 1 can Black beans
  • 1 can Pinto beans
  • 1 can Kidney beans
  • 1 tbsp. chili powder
  • 1 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tsp. red pepper
  • salt and pepper to taste
Plug in your crock pot and turn onto low. Meanwhile, cook grounf turkey until brown in a skillet on the stovetop. Once all of the pink has disappeared, pour into crockpot and add all remaining ingredients. Cook on low for 8 hours and enjoy. Can't get much easier that that!
