Creamy Avocado Shells

This. Is. Genius. Who needs actual cream to make your pasta sauce creamy? Not this girl. The subsititute? AVOCADO! WIth fresh ingredients like avocado, lemon, garlic, and basil; the sauce looks like pesto, but tastes like little shells full of heaven. No oven required.

Creamy Avocado Shells


  • 2 medium avocados
  • 1 lemon, juiced, and zested
  • 3 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil
  • 4 tbsp. olive oil
  • 3 servings of pasta shells
  • salt and pepper to taste
Cook the pasta according to the package directions.

Make the sauce by blending the garlic, lemon juice, and oil in a food processor. Then add the avocados, basil, salt, and pepper until creamy. 

Pour the sauce onto the pasta, top with lemon zest and fresh basil.
