Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats

These make an easy albeit impressive Halloween treat for adults and kids. Who doesn't love a good chewy Rice Krispie treat fresh off of the stove. These are dyed orange and have a cute little tootsie roll stem and frosted leaves to make them look like pumpkins. Whip up a batch for your next Halloween party and you will definitely impress everyone in attendance.

Pumpkin Rice Krispie Treats

Ingredients:

  • 1 box of Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 bag of marshmallows
  • Butter
  • Orange food coloring
  • 20 tootsie rolls, unwrapped
  • Vanilla frosting, tinted with green food coloring for the leaves

Follow the recipe on the box of rice krispies. When you are melting the marshmallows, add in the orange food coloring until you reach the desired “pumpkin” color.

Once you have mixed the cereal into the marshmallow mixture, spoon the mixture into piles onto wax paper.

Once the cereal has cooled a bit, use your hands to roll them into balls. Then place a tootsie roll in the center of each “pumpkin”.

Finally, frost a little green leaf or two coming out of the tootsie roll stem.
