Orange Rind Jello Shots

This past Memorial Day weekend was full of parties, friends, and definitely no shortage on booze. I attended a bocce ball tournament on Saturday, and offered to make jello shots for everybody. But trust me when I say that these are no ordinary jello shots. Served in an orange rind, it kind of makes you feel like you are in 2nd grade at soccer practice when the snack mom brought out fruit slices...but these are filled with vodka-jello-y goodness.

Jello Shots

Ingredients:
(1 orange will make 6 jello shots, so adjust ingredients as necessary)

  • 2 boxes of jello, choose flavors to your liking
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup vodka
  • 10 oranges, sliced in half and and fruit removed
Make jello according to package directions, substituting 1/2 cup of vodka for 1/2 of the cold water addition. Place orange rind halves into muffin tin pans to hold them upright. Fill each orange half with jello. Carefully place into fridge to solidify for 5 hours minimum. Once they have set, cut them into thirds. Serve.
